The My Hero Academia anime will launch its My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary project with a special start event scheduled for April 3.
The event will mark ten years since the first season of the anime premiered, with Episode 1 “Izuku Midoriya: Origin” originally airing on April 3, 2016. Voice cast members Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo), Ayane Sakura (Ochaco Uraraka), and Kenta Miyake (All Might) will appear at the event to look back on the series’ decade-long history.
The program will also reveal new information related to the anniversary project, including details about the upcoming My Hero Academia: More sequel episode, which adapts an additional epilogue chapter included in the manga’s final Volume 42 and is scheduled to air on May 2. The event will be streamed live on the TOHO animation YouTube channel.
Fans will also have the opportunity to attend the event in Japan in person. Applications for priority seating are open through a lottery system on ePlus from March 7 to March 16 at 23:59 JST.
Kohei Horikoshi drew the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 until August 2024. The series ended last year after a 10-year run, getting numerous illustrations and messages for the conclusion.
The anime adaptation first premiered in April 2016 and has since become one of the most popular modern shonen franchises worldwide. It concluded with Episode 170 on December 13, 2025.
