Ronin Warriors (Armor Legend Samurai Troopers) is officially getting a new anime sequel, with the announcement coming over 37 years since the original anime ended. A ‘super teaser’ visual and trailer have been unveiled, along with the main staff and cast. SUNRISE Studios will handle the animation, with Yoichi Fujita as the director. It will premiere in January 2026.
The sequel anime will be set in present-day Shinjuku and feature a completely original story with a new generation of Samurai Troopers. Hiro Ichibashi will voice the protagonist, Gai.

The original anime aired from April 30, 1988, to March 4, 1989, ending with a totalidade of 39 episodes. There was also a manga adaptation, which was serialized on Kodansha’s Comic BomBom from November 1988 to April 1990.
